The Ever Remaining Absence

I can’t get myself out of sight, no matter where I look, and still the body, the self, remains unfamiliar to me. How does the body represent the inner being? Is there an actual self, or is it a cultural construction, an idea of ”me”?

Unfolding (2018, 04.10 min) is a two-channel video piece, an attempt to let go.

Through challenging my physical boundaries, I map out the stages of being and not-being, seeing and not-seeing. I use my body as a tool as I examine the connection with my surroundings. With these actions I aim to challenge the surface. I reach for the unspoken, for the ever-remaining absence.

Towards the Self (2018, 03.42 min)is a three-channel video piece.
The foundation of the work lays on the concept of self and its’ contradictions.
