I'm a
visual artist, whose artistic work deals with themes such as
identity, absence and longing. I aim to raise questions about the way we view
the world: how we face nature, people and ourselves. I work from a personal
perspective, yet I’m often influenced by scientific and philosophical themes.
In my work I concentrate on the details, in order to grasp the bigger picture.
I grew up
in a house that had windows to every direction; it was a house of light. In
night and day, the rays of
light changed, their density differed, yet the reflections of the outside were
constantly there,
flickering. I still see
the world through its' reflections, a bit like in Platon's cave. To me, seeing
is interpretation of light. Being is interpretation. The world seems to be
veiled in a mist: I reach out, but cannot grasp it. I am not concrete – there
is always this space around me.
I work mainly with photography, text and moving image. Currently working and living in Helsinki, Finland. I Graduated as a Master of Arts from
Aalto University School of Arts, Design and Architecture in 2020 & a BA of Culture and Arts from Lahti Institute of Design in 2015.
