On Absence is a set of video works and photographs. The foundation of the body of work lays on the concepts of self. The contradiction of self fascinates me. I can’t get myself out of sight, no matter where I look, and still the body, the self, remains unfamiliar to me.

How does the body represent the inner being? Is there an actual self, or is it a cultural construction, an idea of ”me”?

Through challenging my physical boundaries, I map out the stages of being and not-being, seeing and not-seeing. I use my body as a tool as I examine the connection with my surroundings. With these actions I aim to challenge the surface. I reach for the unspoken, for the ever-remaining absence.
